On October 14-15, 2021, the Department of European Studies held its Eighth International Scientific Conference, named “The Call for More Europe – Ambitions and Realities”.
The event was attended by prominent professors from Bulgarian universities, as well as academics from Germany, Ireland, Belgium, Romania and Serbia. Discussions focused on topics such as the debate on the future of the EU through the lens of economic, health, climate and migration challenges; the difficulties facing the policy of enlargement and neighbourhood, the lessons of Brexit; the importance of better education, of shaping a common European identity and understanding the values of the European Union.
